田海（Barend ter Haar），英国牛津大学汉学讲座教授（Shaw Professor of Chinese），主要研究领域为中国民间宗教、地方宗教文化史，著有《中国宗教史上的白莲教教义》（The White Lotus Teachings in Chinese Religious History, Brill, 1992）、《三合会的仪式与神话：一种认同的创生》（The Ritual and Mythology of the Chinese Triads: Creating an Identity, Brill, 1998）、《讲故事：中国历史上的巫术与替罪》（Telling Stories: Witchcraft and Scapegoating in Chinese History, Brill, 2006）等，即将出版The History of a Reading Experience: A lay Buddhist Chan-movement in late imperial China。
